Enhancing Parent – School Communication and Attendance Tracking

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Park View Education Centre is pleased to announce our subscription to SchoolConnects Automated Notification. Our subscription will begin Friday May 13, 2011.

Service provided through Synrevoice Technologies Inc. SchoolConnects can deliver a wide variety of messages by phone and email to parents and guardians at a very high speed. It will help enhance overall communication within our school community and we will replace our Student Agendas with this service to communicate important dates, student attendance and school information to parents and guardians.

To keep you informed of your student’s class attendance in a timely manner, we will be using SchoolConnects to notify you by phone (or email if unable to reach you by phone) whenever your student is marked absent from class. The phone calls are usually made to your home phone in the evening when you are likely there. If you have a personal mobile phone number that you have provided to the school, you will be contacted at this if you are unreachable at your home number.

If you wish to view your student’s attendance records online, please go to: https://sisssrsb.ednet.ns.ca/public/ (this link is on the PVEC website homepage) and enter your Username and Password that was provided to all parents and guardians from the school.

Junior Achievement's Company Program (JA)

Junior Achievement's Company Program is an extra-curricular activity for high school students in grades 10, 11, and 12.  Students who participate in the Company Program organize and operate an actual business enterprise. With the support and guidance of volunteer business Advisors, students raise capital, select, produce and sell a product then liquidate the company. This is not a fictional or paper exercise - participants actually form a real company!
